FuelEU Focus: Digital Innovation in Maritime Compliance

Shah Irani, Chief Technology Officer, joined a panel of industry leaders to discuss how digital strategies are turning regulatory complexity into clarity. Speaking at the FuelEU Solutions and Digital Innovation Seminar in Hong Kong, co-hosted by The Hong Kong Shipowners Association and the American Bureau of Shipping, Shah explained how Fleet is leveraging new digital platforms, simplifying maritime compliance management, and supporting sustainable, data-driven fleet performance as a result.

Scaling Ammonia Adoption: Marine Fuel 360

At the Marine Fuel 360 Conference 2025 in Singapore, Pankaj Singhal, Country Head, Singapore, and Product Director, Containers, joined industry leaders to discuss pathways for scaling ammonia adoption in shipping. He outlined Fleet’s practical roadmap for fleet transition, balancing new builds, retrofits, and crew readiness while emphasising the role of training, safety, and collaboration in sustainable fuel adoption.

Building a Sustainable Maritime Workforce

At the 1st CSN Northern European Crewing Conference in Hamburg, Mike Bradshaw, Director for Cyprus & Greece, addressed trends in emerging crewing markets before moderating an industry panel on tackling talent shortages. He outlined Fleet’s approach to growing the talent pool in established sourcing regions and emphasised the importance of investing in skills, diversity and leadership. The panel explored how future officers must blend technical expertise with strong interpersonal skills, and highlighted the need for inclusive training, safe workplaces and cultural change to address the industry’s talent shortage.

At the Green Shipping Conference in Shanghai, Prakash Chandra, Director and Gas SME, spoke about the future of green fuels in shipping. A New Chapter for Maritime Procurement Collaboration‍

Alex Drew, Director of Procurement, delivered a keynote at IMPA Singapore 2025, where he discussed the Global Maritime Procurement Council, of which Fleet are a founding member. The GMPC now represents over 4,000 vessels, and unites the leading shipowners and managers to share best practice and drive innovation, harmonisation, and long-term transformation across the maritime procurement sector.  Alex has been appointed to lead the talent management workstream, focusing on attracting the next generation of procurement professionals through better education, improved career paths, and access to supporting materials.
